Note to the media buyers: DETAILS!
Note to the Bravo sales reps: you’re going to have some pretty annoyed clients on your hands come tomorrow morning.
OK, let’s go on one of those reblogging sprees where you fill in the answers and shit.
Here we go: What’s your dream job? Why do you want this job? What would you do at this job?
Personally, I’d like to DJ full time and professionally in the UK. It’s something I’m still interested in after 7 years or so and I love to part, so it makes sense. I just want to sit up there in a booth or on a stage throwing down track after track and making people dance for hours.
Yourself?
Ideally I’d continue to work in media until I became bored with it. Then I’d like to open a bar with McGlynn somewhere in the city. It’ll be called Blakeley’s and have several beers on tap, kind of look like Spring Lounge and would be frequented by all sorts of media types.
Professional pianist… preferably on Broadway. I’m really regretting giving that up shortly after I moved to NYC.
I’d also love to own a bed & breakfast with my family. I’d give you all a good discount.
1) Recording engineer/producer - live my life in the studio, helping artists make great music
2) Writer - like, really a writer, with published books, and not the current pile of rejection letters (“We just don’t feel your protagonist is very likeable…”)
That said, I had a conversation with my friend Sara this weekend where I realized that despite the way I kind of fell into my current career, I am oddly suited to it.
Small dog humping my arm, as captured by Kate.
…was humped by a small dog.
…fell off a raft.
…fell out of a canoe.
…had a huge spider on my bare shoulder.
…received five mosquito bites on just my feet.
…developed four or five black-and-blue marks.
This weekend was awesome, and I have the scars/bruises to show it.
